Basic Duties

The Area Coordinator is dedicated to assisting our District Mangers in ensuring that our client’s needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner. The position is primarily responsible for assisting in the training and working with reps.


Major Areas of Responsibility

·        Assist in training new merchandisers.

·        Work with current reps for project completion

·        Conduct store audits and quality visits.

·        Meet new store managers to develop relationships.

·        Attend Dollar General field meetings as needed.

·        Cover a designation territory and report completed projects.

·        Assist District Manager with recruiting.

·        Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from direct reporting Project Specialist and Store Associates

·        Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

·        Word processing, Spreadsheets, Internet software, E‑mail, SmartPM Mobile App and Database software

·        Professional appearance and presentation and good personal grooming


Language Ability Requirements

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.


Math Ability Requirements

Basic math skills for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.  Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as fractions, percentages, and ratios and to apply these concepts to practical situations.


Professional Experience

·        High School diploma or equivalent

·        Previous reset experience


Work Environment

·        Work is performed in a typical warehouse environment and the noise level in the environment may be loud

Approximately 85% travel maybe required for Area Coordinators. Overnight stays may be required throughout the work week as dictated by business objectives and district boundaries.
